To the victors.....

Air Force senior linebacker Drew Fowler was named the Mountain West Conference defensive player of the week Monday for his performance in the Falcons’ 20-12 victory over Utah.

Fowler recorded a game-high 14 tackles (six solo), and 10 came in the second half.

He saved his best for the most important play of the game. With the Utes facing a fourth-and-goal from the Air Force 1-yard line with just more than a minute to play, Fowler burst through a gap to grab Utah’s Darryl Poston, and teammate Hunter Altman came over top to finish the job and preserve the Falcons’ victory.

Fowler had a truly awesome game! Congratulations to Drew!

I think the whole defense is looking inspired. They are showing how hungry they are! Props, too, to the fantastic offense! I know TCU will be a really tough game, but I think the Falcons have a good chance of showing (once again) that they can compete with the best of them.

Keep up the great work Falcons! (You too, Jake - I really enjoy your blog!)

The Defense did ok. Utah was missing their starting QB, starting RB, and Top reciver for half the game. They should not have come within 3 yards of overtime. BYU will be the first rigorous test the Defense.

Offense will gets its metal tested this week vs TCU.

Congrats to Drew! This young man is an outstanding player and leader. His play sets the tone for the entire defense. Still, he's humble, courteous, and always gives the credit to his teammates.
There were lots of heroes on D on Saturday, but if they had to choose one, this was THE choice.
