Jake, are these practices open to the public? I'd like to see how the team is shaping up without talent like Shaun Carney and Chad Hall.

Speaking of Carney, is there any more news on his recovery?

Ben,

As far as I know they are open. Calhoun hasn't closed any practices since he's been in charge.
I'll check on Shaun. As far as I know he's just rehabbing.

Great article on recruiting today Jake. Some real insight there.

One hopes Calhoun's quality over quantity philosophy doesn't backfire. Predicting attrition at service academies is a tough business. He could be in real trouble if his 1 or 2 prize quarterback recruits drops out, gets in trouble, or can't hack the academics. If lightning strikes in the wrong place 2 or 3 years in a row, the whole program could go into the rocks.

Very true. I brought that up with him, but he's convinced that with better evaluation and relationships, they'll be able to pinpoint kids that will stick.
It's an interesting idea, and we won't see the results for a few years. Stay tuned.
